Everlong - Topshop cape playsuit and affordable studs.

This is going to be my last blog post for a few days as tomorrow I will be starting my holidays and having a few cheeky cocktails immediately after work to celebrate Scottish festivities beginning Saturday.
I'll be away for a few nights but will take pictures and no doubt update as soon as I return and am alone for more than a moment.
This is just a quick what I wore post based on the outfit I'm wearing tonight, I feel like I'm definitely getting old since I've had drinks already and am almost ready to get tucked into bed for an early work starting time tomorrow! It's the birthday of a good friend of mine today so we ventured out for food and wine for a few hours as I won't be around for the weekend celebrations. This is what I wore...
The cream playsuit I'm wearing is from Topshop, it's such a light colour I loved it immediately but tend to be terrified every single time I wear it as I seem to always be drinking red wine in dirty pubs followed by eating pasta! I think this playsuit is adorable, the cape detailing is something I loved from the moment I saw it hanging up, it's quite awkward to get on as it's literally a pull up, no buttons, no zip situation which means that it's very low cut. I am constantly on edge checking whether I am too exposed! Love it still though. It's really comfy and perfect when you're having a bit of a big day and just want to cover up. That was a problem I had when I first got it, I kept putting it on then changing my mind on outfit choice because it doesn't feel flattering when I'm not in the right mood. I know that sounds weird compared to my previous sentence but whatever, I'm a girl, I know what I mean!
I wish I got it when it was available in black as it is a winner, they sell similar on ASOS in the sale too I noticed, I don't know anyone that's bought it but it's a cheaper option.
I wore this playsuit with my trusty Topshop wedge boots, they've got a good wedge heel. Perfect for day to night they are the most comfy shoes I own. I vividly remember when I bought them, ages ago with my student loan, my mam said I'd never wear them. I kept them pristine until I wore them in London in February last year when I really gave them a spin. It turned out that we'd decided to go to London on the only snowy weekend that year and these boots happened to be the only thing I could safely walk in, they have a fantastic tread on them and while my boyfriend was slipping all over in his smooth sole shoes I was striding perfectly! They're not real leather but I think they were still a bargain at only £50 considering I still wear them a whole lot more than a year later.
I teamed these items with my studded clutch bag I bought from Primark before Christmas, I loved the Topshop version but couldn't really justify the money for a bag that is so on trend and inevitably something I'd use for a few months and then forget about it at the bottom of my wardrobe. Then I stumbled into Primark and saw this little lady smirking at me, I love it and like the tassel detail on the zip a lot. It seems pretty good quality and it's only negative is the fact that it's only a clutch and doesn't have a longer strap. I'm not really going to complain too much because it was a steal for £6.
Jewellery wise I kept it simple and just wore a gold necklace, also from Topshop. It's related to the zodiac, you know, air fire and water and all that. It's not the correct one for me, I'm a fire sign and I have a feeling this could be air. Not 100% on that though, I just liked the necklace!
I'll also post the photos of me actually wearing this outfit when I get back too!
Speak soon xoxo

P.s I had a Subway today and as it was the first one I've had in ages and it was so good I felt the need to post a picture.

Coffee & TV - Movies for Scotland?

Arghhhh Scotland is so close and I am not even 1% prepared.
I am going to be one stressed lady when I finish work at 6:10pm Friday, eek!
Fortunately as we're in a remote lodge in an equally remote area of Scotland with just each other for company I don't really have to worry about what to wear. That still does not stop me worrying that my clothes are not warm enough, I do not own anything outdoorsy!
Anyway, the list is here...
Clothes/underwear/nightwear/swimwear
Toiletries/skincare/cosmetics
Food/alcohol
Movies

It looks simple but there's so much to sort out. So movies, I'm thinking...
Drive
Blow
Amelie
Inception
The Shawshank Redemption
10 Things I Hate About You
Y Tu Mama Tambien
The Garden State

Enough?!
Stressed!

Where Is My Mind? - Topshop dip dye t-shirt.

It was my first day back at work today, no amount of sighs would be enough, I awakened this morning and felt an intense urge to lie my head back on the pillow but oh no that could not be done.
Fortunately when I returned home there was a little treat waiting for me. I was a Graze box fanatic from the early days but stopped getting them around September last year, I found they were just acting as extra snacks rather than replacing less healthy ones! Anyway, I know I've said it before but I mean it this time, health starts tomorrow. Diet and exercise come at me. This plan means I received my first Graze box of 2013 today and it contained some absolute treats. Cheddar gorge, sweet popcorn, pistachios and olives. To be honest I couldn't have asked for a better box! I'll keep you updated on my health kick too!
I know it's so so early and I don't go away until the very end of June but I've starting thinking holiday wear already. Casual wear for me tends to be a nightmare, throw in a beach and sunshine and I'm well and truly stuck. It's very early to be making such a decision but I have decided that my beach look this year will be an oversized t-shirt with bikini and flip flops and maybe a bit of unnecessary jewellery thrown in. Therefore when I strolled past Topshop on my way to a well known northern sandwich shop I saw a certain t-shirt by the door that caught my eye.
It's the dip dye t-shirt in a grey/off white and it's a beauty. I wish it was Spain time already!
I also, on the t-shirt hunt was thinking boxy so had a brainwave, MAN, so I ran into Primark and picked up a couple of t-shirt from the male section for only £2.50. These I am planning on wearing for both my holiday and the casual, dirty bed day I indulge in when I'm without plans on a day off!
I also saw these heart champagne flutes that just made my day. They are hilarious and at £1 who could say no! And a quick photo of my vice, Kettle vegetable crisps, the beetroot ones are to die for and while not wholly healthy the fact they are made with vegetables different from the standard potato makes me feel I'm doing something better.

Under Your Spell - Zara bag and Topshop bodycon midi dress.

Another blog post title chosen from the Drive soundtrack. The inspiration for this may have come from the fact that it's all I've listened to for as long as I can remember and I just happened to lunch at Revolution with my sister today and it was playing there too!

So as I've already said I had a cheeky Revolution lunch to mark my final day of work holidays this week. It's half price on Monday's and as my sister is due to go back to work from maternity leave very soon we decided to make the most of today! My sister went for the Revolution vodka burger while I chose the mushroom and cheeseburger, both with a side of fries, naturally. I am continuously torn between garlic mushroom denver fries and everything else on the menu but today, since fries and garlic and mushrooms are included in the burger I couldn't resist this! Anyway, the food tasted sensational and it came to under £10, can't complain about that at all!

Today I wore the plain black Topshop midi bodycon dress, I know what you're thinking, food plus bodycon, sacrilege! I thought the same so for that reason I wore a Topshop shirt with a vintage inspired pattern. Along with thick tights, ASOS Mighty studded shoes and my leopard collar Topshop coat the outfit was complete. I also painted my nails with a Topshop glitter over Chanel blue satin, they look like a star filled sky!
A quick mention on the bag I chose today, a few months ago I was in Zara and discovered this beautiful city bag as I passed the checkout, I immediately fell in love. It was only when I noticed the pocket in the back I knew it had to be mine, it took me a few moments to realise it was actually an iPad pocket and we've been in love ever since. It's adorable, so elegant and striking and I had to wait a while but now I finally have an iPad to put in it! I cannot describe how I love that bag.

I received a text while I was lunching from my dad telling me my ASOS parcel had arrived, yey and yey! As soon as I got home I ran upstairs to try on. The box was so tiny I almost thought they'd actually forgotten to put the dress in! I hastily unwrapped and found both of my items perfectly squished in! I'll start with the dress, now I know I ordered a smock dress and yes, I did expect something oversized but I certainly did not quite expect what I got. It is massive, I was shocked but tried it on anyway and as much as I was unsure at first, it's really grown on me. I need to style it up a bit to make sure it's me but I'm starting to really like it. I'm thinking with the correct accessories and the right shoes it'll be a really cool look. The marl isn't quite as I expected, it looks more printed but I like it. So if anyone is planning on ordering it, get a 6!
I've already received the off shoulder top which I shall show you eventually, it just looks like a plain black top on the hanger, so the only thing left in the I'd was the present I'd purchased for my boyfriend.
I was going to hang on and not say anything about it until the 14th of February but they were just far too gorgeous. So he suddenly (after I'd bought all of his Christmas presents!!!) decided he'd like cuff links! I'd already gone way beyond the budget and bought his some pretty awesome presents, if I do say so myself, so I just couldn't justify buying them! February I decided was the perfect opportunity. I purchased the Hugo Boss round cuff links, I was a little reluctant with them being online but they've arrived and they are so much better than I expected. I managed to get my 25% student discount on them too so they were an absolute steal. They're a mirrored silver circle with an outer line of black, this was what I was unsure about but as you'll see from the pictures the are absolutely delicious and I have no doubt he will love them!

A Real Hero - Weekend frolics.

A post named after one of my favourite songs from the outstanding soundtrack to the equally outstanding movie, Drive.
I had a mini blogging break due to weekend treats but I am back with a vengeance.
I promised I'd update on my dine in meal and that I will.
So we had cod and tomato bake as our main and as much as it didn't look too fantastic when it went into the oven it was an absolute taste sensation, along with the potato rosti it was a culinary delight. Followed this with hot caramel and hazelnut blondies and they were truly terrific. I was more than impressed with this whole meal and will definitely be investing in these again, well worth the money. Check out the pictures.
A quick note on what I did yesterday, after a quiet Saturday I had an equally chilled out Sunday. After a morning in bed eating bagels and heart shaped strawberry jelly sweets I met up with my boyfriend and we ventured to Durham for a little stroll, inappropriate shoes by me meant that the riverside walk turned into a dash around the less scenic central route. We popped into Starbucks for a cheeky sugar free vanilla skimmed latte and I had a little brownie treat. We were the only non university students in there and more notably the only people not carrying their MacBooks with them! How silly of us!
After this we drive along to my boyfriends aunts house and had a Sunday roast followed by strawberry cake, dreamy Sundays!
