As I work in the city centre I seem to be constantly feeding my shopping addiction, whether I'm just trying on clothes or buying them I cannot keep myself away from the shopping centre. Although in my simple old city Topshop is about as far as I venture!
I noticed yesterday Topshop had further lines added to their sale and that drew me in completely, there were a few things I'd perused over the autumn/winter months that made my eyes twinkle and I had hoped they'd drift into the Christmas sale, when they didn't I was mildly devastated but quickly recovered. For once however, I had all of the luck as yesterday when I stumbled across the threshold and into the shiny walled Topshop I found some of those items. I marched out after filling my arms with metallics only to return today and fulfil my velvet lined dreams.
So I'll talk you through today's buys so you don't think I'm 100% crazy based on that previous paragraph.
Firstly, I nabbed myself a glorious gold skirt, it's a quilted feel and is so shiny and wonderful it makes my eyeballs melt. Normally the whole quilted idea would have shivers running down my spine as curves and quilted fabric are the combination of Armageddon type disasters particularly when my little old memory recalled an incident a couple of months ago when I tried said skirt on and happened to catch it in the zip of a top I was trying on creating upmost panic. Despite this moment increasing my blood pressure untold amounts I couldn't take my eyes off it and have stared at in a whimsical fashion almost weekly since then! I adore this skirt and think I may wear it this weekend for the closing night of my local club with the most jazzy shirt I have, possibly the charity shop number I acquired recently as mentioned in a previous most. I could just go the whole way and throw on the bronze sequin sensation I got last week!
Anyway, to the technical part, sizing wise I found it to be a little strange, while I purchased my usual size I found the fit to be quite boxy, more suited to a boyish figure (ie a figure I do not have) as its cute in a rectangular shape giving no real space for hips and waist. For me this means that while it fits my hips it's rather big on the waist. Also, the gold zips on the front aren't wholly to my taste but they'll probably go perfectly well with the gaudy look I'm planning for this weekend.
Next, I got myself a cheeky white shirt, long sleeved, very plain and just a staple white shirt.they only had it in petite so the arms aren't perfect but not a bad look and for £12 I cannot complain. I love a shirt and have been in desperate need of a plain white number for a long time, I was particularly provoked into buying it for the purpose of going under the chic item I bought next...
The most gorgeous velvet dungaree style playsuit. I'd bought this a while ago and returned it as I felt it was overpriced and I wasn't sure about it. Standard move by me though as I couldn't stop thinking about it after. When I saw it I just had to have it, the velvet is so soft and appeals to my obsession, it's so cute and I can't wait to wear it with the white shirt under and the cute little white socks I got along with the good studded ASOS Mighty shoes I grabbed in the sale! It's very short but I might as well exploit that as I only have a limited bit of youth left to enjoy!
I then got another pair of velvet shorts, I know, obsessed! Red this time, well a kind of maroon colour, they're gorgeous but I'm undecided, they're really short and I'm not sure I quite have hot pant confidence yet!
