Don't Let It Break Your Heart - Birthday/Christmas continued.

Fingers crossed my posts will start to become slightly more regular now that the hectic winter season events are all over. I had the most fantastic Christmas and New Year spent with those I love the most. New Year was somewhat of an up and down event, I had chosen to spend the evening with my boyfriend in our home town as I was unsure of whether I had to work the next day. As it turned out we could've gone away as I had the day off. Anyway, we had the loveliest evening in grim old Sunderland just the two of us, we went out into the city centre for drinks and saw the beginnings of 2012 in our favourite old haunt, Independent, which is soon to close for relocation. It was almost where we met so we deemed it highly appropriate. It was a great evening full of drunken debauchery and lots of excitable twirling until some very aggressive ex girlfriends of my boyfriends flat mate decided to give us a piece of their shamefully drunken minds, apart from that the eve was a dream!
I had a fashion meltdown when deciding what to wear on NYE as I was getting ready at my boyfriends so had to just take a selection of outfits and narrow the choices down somewhat, in the end I went for a maroon lace high neck dress with sheer lace back I purchased a while ago from Topshop paired with minimal jewellery and Topshop heeled Chelsea boots, I will get some photos up eventually!
I am really using this post to show you folks some of the other dazzling treats received for Christmas and my birthday along with some of the sale bargains I managed to bag!
Here goes, I was given, as mentioned in a previous post, the most amazing Cambridge Satchel from my boyfriend, he got me the Downing and it is just vastly more adorable than I could ever have imagined!

I also received a number of treats from him for Christmas, we had originally set a £100 budget as we decided to book a short getaway to brighten up our new year somewhat but we both most definitely managed to blow that! We went to a local shopping centre, the metro Centre, in order to get some ideas for each other. After buying him some goodies we went browsing for myself, I had fallen in love with many pairs of Topshop boots over the winter but two pairs in particular had caught my eye, these being the ANT boots and the ADONIS2 boots, I tend to adore a kind of heavier boot to add a bit of edge to an outfit and my choice was settled when the ANT boots were only available in a size 5 and I'm a teeny 3/4! I am wholeheartedly in love with those which I received and have barely had them off my feet since Christmas so the lack of stock was probably a good thing!

During that shopping trip I had also tried on the most glorious mint swing coat from Topshop and had to pry myself away from the purchase of it, luckily my adorable beau had a keen eye and went after work the next day to pick it up for a Christmas surprise for me. He told me later that he had a nightmare finding it as it had been moved and there was only one left in my size by the time he got there!

He also bought me a gift set of Boss Orange perfume, I was so impressed that he managed to pick that one as he chose it based on the fact it reminds him of when we first started going on 'proper' dates as it was the perfume I wore as a daytime scent back then!
Moving in to a few of the treats I bagged myself during the sales, I first decided that I would purchase a body brush, this wasn't in the sale but I feel it's necessary to mention it as a part of my detoxing/healthy/fitness orientated 2013! I haven't noticed any real effect so far but it does feel pretty good!

I also scoured the ASOS sale and found myself a pair of she's named 'Mighty' and I immediately knew they were for me, a leather brogue type shoe with a small chunky flat heel and devilish gold studding to the toe, uncomfortable but beautiful and that's all the matters. A half price steal at £25!

I also bought myself a non sale batwing black dress intended for new years, I am yet to wear this but it is amazing, I had to change my NYE outfit choice as the batwing dress is not one for wearing tights as it is huge and would look slightly dowdy on me with tights which were necessary as silly old me fell UP the stairs at work and had major leg bruising at the time! I somehow managed to get a 25% discount with Unidays too, not sure how but I wasn't going to argue!
More on my sale bargains to follow!
