This mornings post is just a little something on what I wore last night. I decided that staying in the house would be far to dull so sauntered down to a local cocktail bar and restaurant with a few pals for strawberry blonde mojitos and nachos galore.
As much as the weather has been pretty grim of late I felt the need to go tightless, I'm not sure why, it's an impulse I rarely have but it was one I certainly had last night. A chill was most definitely felt though!
I decided to wear the Topshop double collar playsuit I purchased last year, around May/June time I think it was. As old as it is I recall only wearing it once before now and that was for my graduation in July. An example of how many clothes I actually do have!
As soon as I put it on I realised just why I had bought it though, it's absolutely adorable and I've seen few things like that. Nothing much has struck me in such a way since I saw that playsuit!
Obviously, it goes without saying that my love of the black and white is obvious and I also love a statement or contrast collar. This is everything I could ever want in an item. A perfectly cut playsuit with a double collar consisting of a plain black structured collar with a white lace collar just peeking out from underneath. Aaahhhh words cannot express my love.
It also has long sleeves, another of my favourite features, these are in a sheer fabric with a little button on each cuff.
Again, another feature of this item I like so much in its design is the pinafore style, although it is most definitely a full playsuit, it has sheer panels at the side making it look like more of a pinafore style garment, it is an absolute dream!
I wore to playsuit with my wine red pork pie hat that I had also purchased from Topshop many moons ago, it's adorable although it really bugs me that they do not offer different hat sizes, all heads are not one size and my head certainly isn't as large as Topshop tend to cater for. It's a treat though and the rich red wine colour is perfect for me.
Along with this I wore my Topshop Ample2 boots my parents got me as an early birthday present, I fell in love with the original style of this boot and when I saw them online I purchased them straight away. Ultimately, I received the new style boot rather than the original one I had viewed as advertised but after trying them on and wandering around the house wearing them with different outfits I fell in love. They are gorgeous and while they are different from the originals and I would definitely have both if it wasn't just a ridiculous overspend for something so similar I am so so happy I kept these ones!
They tend to go with everything and although I hate the creases created from walking in them I think they'll actually look really good when they're worn in a bit more. Like a more feminine, less bulky Dr Marten. They have a really cute little heel though and make for very comfy going out shoes!
Along with these I threw on my Next crombie style overcoat and my studded clutch bag, minimal jewellery. Enjoy the photos!
