Underneath It All - Pop Boutique Koko dress.

So I finally received the Wednesday dress, I fell I may have to stop calling it the Wednesday dress though as when I decided to peruse the Pop Boutique website to see some other items, I did see a dress that they sell that is actually called the Wednesday dress. Note, this dress is also amazing and I really, really, really, really want it!
Anyway, I shall now refer to my lusty monochrome number as the Koko dress. I bought this dress as mentioned a few days ago from ASOS and and it is most certainly a beauty. The curved collar with sharp point and the empire line styling are a dream. The black and white contrast provides a perfect juxtaposition between the girlish style of the dress and the mannish gothic colour palate.
The lines are harsh as is the colour, the dress is fierce and I adore it. The arms are sheer, but as the colour is black and the material strong this does not really come through which for me is a benefit as I think it looks better this way. I find the empire line styling very cute and although it is not my favourite cut of dress I think it suits this and although it's a little more flared than I expected from the picture, probably down to the very skinny model, I really like it. Not breathtaking but a sharp, affordable, day to night piece.
I do have a few little niggles with it though, I found the material a little harsh and maybe slightly scratchy if you get my meaning. A little bit cheap to be fair. However, for the price one cannot complain. It does tend to crease though and as I try not to wash clothes after one wear unless they are dirty I find this to be a slight issue. Along with this there's a distinct zip issue, given the standard zip stiffness a new garment tends to provide, the way the dress has been made doesn't help. Whether via post manufacture steaming or otherwise the material by the zip at the back of the dress folds in a way which I have no doubt will make it difficult not to get the two caught. This is a pet hate of mine as I often find myself stumbling round my room in a drunken haze ferociously removing clothing in an effort to get into bed ASAP! I am hoping that with a bit of Mama Covet alteration a quick steam of our own will rid me of this problem.
Overall, an excellent buy and a very affordable multi use dress that I have no doubt will become a staple of my wardrobe. And I will be buying the Wednesday soon!!!!
