This is beginning to become quite an evening of blogging, I'm also planning on delving into the world of Twitter and possibly Pinterest today also! Can you tell I've finally downloaded the Blogger app on to my iPad?
So this is the continuation of my sale exploits!
I managed to sneak into Topshop with great timing on the day their sale began given my intense knowledge of when it would be, my keen eye viewed the accessories go into sale a few days earlier so I knew exactly when it was coming. This meant that I grabbed myself a few little bargains, the first being a divine little playsuit, it's a nude colour with black lace and a very cute cut out back area, it's gorgeous although I am yet to find a suitable bra to wear with it. I was amazed at this little find as it was pretty much an immediate sell out in store and online and to find it in my size was somewhat miraculous! It was only £25 too.
Next I spied velvet, as you will find out my weakness is velvet and I buy almost everything I see in the material, I managed to find in my size the black velvet shorts and a gorgeous vintage inspired patterned fringed vest, it is glorious, along with a few items of jewellery those were all of my immediate Topshop buys.
That was until I saw the most beautiful sequinned top, it's a kind of bronze sequin, not too full on but very eye catching, I'd seen it in sale for a while but at originally £46 it had only gone down to£20 and as its an item which probably won't be very long lasting due to the washing difficulties I felt it was overpriced, then I noticed after christmas it had been reduced to £10 and snapped it up immediately.
I went into River Island a few days ago having found very little of interest in there for a very long time and managed to find some very vivid, somewhat gaudy (in a good way) pyjamas. Now I'm not really a pyjama girl and generally only wear the things on Christmas eve when my parents bring out the annual Christmas eve pyjamas as mere tradition more than anything (my 30 year old sister still gets some every year) but I bought these as Scotland hideaway break is looming and as my boyfriend and I will be in a very cold area of Scotland in a log cabin with a hot tub and not much else I felt they were probably necessary to beat the cabin to hot tub chill!
Having graduated from University in the summer I am on the hunt for a full time career but as I attended a uni so close to home I manage to meet up with my uni pals as often as I can. I don't get into Newcastle much now with my boyfriend having moved more locally and working more hours in my part time job but on Friday I met up with a friend for coffee and nipped in to Urban Outfitters while I was there. I tried on a few thing but to be honest I find that their style tends to be far more casual than I tend to indulge in but I do find some of their pieces enchanting.
Here I bought a few things, I've been on the hunt for a tartan scarf for a while and had seen to one before but when I went on Friday it was down to £10 so I thought I might as well. I went to Edinburgh in 2011 so I don't know why I didn't simply buy a more authentic one there but hey, I might find an even lovelier one in our remote Scottish retreat next month but this one will do for now.
I also saws few ornate little trays, catch alls they are described as, and bought a couple of brightly patterned ones to pop a couple of candles on in my room. They're very cute and seem to be suitable for candles so I won't complain. The candles I'm using at the minute are Yankee Candles in a cranberry ice scent, they're beautiful and the fragrance is very long lasting!
One last thing I got from UO was a frame for my graduation photo, it's a kind or baroque looking black frame and in a 'does what it says on the tin' kind of way it is perfect.
I also bought a few goodies from Lush, all of their Christmas gifts went half price from boxing day and I adore Lush products so I could not resist, I bought quite a selection so I will blog as I use. I haven't had the chance yet as I've been so busy with work and social commitments that I haven't really had the time to just relax and have a bath for the sheer luxury rather than just a shower for the necessity.
Lastly I also searched through a few charity shops over the Christmas period, I am no snob in any way and I adore vintage pieces although I find that often they are just what one can find in any charity shop so I would rather search them, save money and help good causes first and foremost. I am a lover of a jazzy shirt as you will soon find out and one in particular caught my eye and it's been almost surgically attached to my body ever since! I also bought a little bit of velvet, some folks despise velvet but I am lucky enough that I live it and my boyfriend is also a fan. When we first met I remember we started dating and would see each other in bars and before even saying 'hello' I would be interrupting the introductions to tell him to feel my leg as I was wearing velvet trousers! I am an absolute fiend for the material!
A few photos to follow and I am almost sure that this will be it for the day!
